2002/03 Season

THE SMALLEST SHOW ON EARTH

UK 1957 (U) - 81 minutes plus talk
Directed by Basil Dearden

Ipswich Film Theatre - 13 January 2003 - 7.30pm

This is a gentle British comedy about a young couple who inherit a run-down cinema called The Bijou. A loving tribute to old picture houses with a gloriously dotty cast of eccentrics.

To round off the evening, John Challis, who as a young man trained as a photographer at Ealing Studios, will then give a short illustrated talk about the life, characters and atmosphere at the studios in the late 1940s.
