Two men are in love with women in long-term comas. Their lives intertwine because one, a male nurse, works at the clinic where the patients are kept. He advocates one-way conversation as the best chance of a cure. Combining baroque plotting with emotional directness, this is its director's smothest - and riskiest - yet.
