ITALIAN FOR BEGINNERS
Denmark 2001 (15) - 112 minutes Ipswich Film Theatre -
20 September 2004
- 7.30pm
The success of an evening class depends on both the teacher and the students. Compelling performances engage us in each personal story. This untypically light-hearted film from the Danish Dogme stable shows how love can catch us all.
AUDIENCE COMMENTS:
Lovely, warm-hearted film. Makes you realise that the stereotypes of the Danes are just that;
The camera work made me feel giddy, but I found the story and characters very endearing;
Very Scandanavian humour. Perhaps needed more rigorous editing;
So refreshingly un-American;
Most boring, tedious film I have ever seen.
