Towards the end of World War II, a young Lapp woman provides shelter in her remote home to two soldiers. Lacking a common language she fails to realise they are fighting for opposing forces. The unlikely relationships develop as the weather keeps the soldiers in residence.

AUDIENCE COMMENTS: Excellent life-affirming film. Intense emotion in a vast landscape; Magnificent, very moving, brilliant view of the outdoors and interaction between three people of different languages; Wonderful. A real film. Images, sounds, acting. A new world opened up and will linger with me; Beautiful to watch and the language didn't seem to matter after a while; A funny little film. Lovely scenery, nice folks and very helpful regarding survival skills.
