KITCHEN STORIES
Norway/Sweden 2003 (PG) Ipswich Film Theatre -
23 April 2007
- 7.30pm
Swedish researchers descend on Norwegian bachelors, with their agreement, to study how effectively they use their kitchens. The strict rule forbidding communication between observer and subject gives rise to much awkwardness and visual humour. A unique kind of comedy enhanced by the differences between the two nations.
AUDIENCE COMMENTS:
An excellent observation of observation;
As gripping in its simplicity as any Brokeback Mountain. Furry hats off to the Scandinavians for their originality;
What a strange, sad film;
You had to look closely to be sure they were moving;
A terribly slow film. I think Isak's cart moved faster than the story.
