2006/07 Season

ONLY HUMAN

Spain 2004 (15) - 89 minutes
Subtitled

Directed by Dominic Harari & Teresa de Palegri

Ipswich Film Theatre - 2 October 2006 - 7.30pm

When Leni takes her fiance Rafi home to meet her Spanish Jewish family, little do they know that he is a Palestinian Arab. As one comical calamity follows another it seems that the right moment for explanations and introductions will never arrive. A kindly humanist farce.

AUDIENCE COMMENTS: I wonder how well it went down at the Tel Aviv Film Festival; An extraordinary rollercoaster of Middle Eastern emotions; Too many loose ends. What happened to the duck; Started off well. Loved the music and was aware that I laughed but by the end of the film, I couldn't remember why; Trite and boring. Fails to be funny. Fails to be serious.
