2007/08 Season
CRONOS
Mexico 1992 (18) Hollywood Film Theatre -
17 March 2008
- 7.30pm
A 400-year-old clockwork device containing a blood-sucking insect is found by an antique dealer who discovers that it confers immortality on the user. Unfortunately it is also in demand by a rich, dying industrialist. Tender and imaginative, this is a vampire tale with a difference.
AUDIENCE COMMENTS:
Brilliant, in a B-Movie way;
Gripping, but horribly macabre. A pity about the little girl being in a large part of it all;
I nearly didn't come because I don't like horror films, but well filmed and surprising effects, but still horrible;
A real stinker. Writing, directing and acting all feeble. It seemed interminable. Wasn't even frightening.
