UK/USA 2006 (15) Hollywood Film Theatre -
4 February 2008
- 7.30pm
A study of youth and old age in which an elderly actor is attracted to his friend's grand-niece newly arrived in London. He introduces her to the Arts and she recovers her self-esteem while their relationship blossoms. Classic performances by Peter O'Toole and Leslie Phillips.
AUDIENCE COMMENTS:
Enjoyed it. It did feel slightly sordid at times and I wanted to look away. Not sure if old age is something to be feared or looked forward to. A good buddy movie;
Wonderful sensitive reflective film full of life and love;
A tear or two did it for me. I believed in every character;
Well acted but the unsavoury elements just did not allow one to accept the message.
