Spain 2006 (15) 121 minutes - Subtitled Directed by Pedro Almodovar

Hollywood Film Theatre - 21 April 2008 - 7.30pm The title means 'going back', more in the nostalgic sense, as you might suspect from the director's love of sentimental songs, and Almodovar does indeed go back – to themes, roots and actresses he has used before. It is a delicious comedy with melodramatic trimmings, and visually it shows an artist in complete command of the medium. AUDIENCE COMMENTS: Story intriguingly told. Great acting. Very good music, just right. Fantastic end credit designs; A Spanish Secrets and Lies with a supernatural twist. Excellent acting and directions; A film with wit and invention. Excellent soundtrack; Wow! Strong, strong women. Who needs men?
