A phenomenon in France in its year of release, Boon's comedy translates pleasantly if unevenly to our shores. Based on the familiar setup of a transplanted outsider getting to know the quaint locals, the story concerns a post office employee who is transfered to the Pas de Calais against his wishes.
AUDIENCE COMMENTS: Not often I laugh out loud in any film. Wonderful acting, script. Just a very well done version of its genre; An absolute delight. 10/10. Wonderful finale to the season; Hilarious and great fun! if not always easy to follow the dialogue but the spirit was irresistable; Excellent translating of two languages; A mixed bag. Better when it wasn't trying too hard to be funny.
