Ipswich Film Theatre - 10 October 2011 - 7.30pm Two schoolboys who have recently become friends discover the power of revenge and its potentially tragic consequences. Their parents meanwhile confront from an adult viewpoint their fractured lives and moral dilemmas – whether in seemingly idyllic Denmark or war torn Africa. This year’s Foreign Language Oscar Winner. AUDIENCE COMMENTS: Wonderfully gripping, multi-layered tale. Great photography and even the music was good; A perfect balance between love and loss, justice and anger. A masterpiece of Scandinavian cool; Amazingly good casting of a performances by the two boys; Moving story, but essentially a study of the effects of loss and bereavement; A bit predictable and sentimental but with a gentle man as hero, it wasn't all bad.
