2011/12 Season
THE CONCERT
France 2009 (15) Ipswich Film Theatre -
5 March 2012
- 7.30pm
Andrei Filipov, a cleaner at the Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow, intercepts a fax booking for the Bolshoi Orchestra to perform in Paris. But 30 years ago, Filipov was conductor of the Bolshoi and he’ll do anything to fulfil that ‘booking’. Good fun and the music’s terrific, whoever’s playing!
AUDIENCE COMMENTS:
Witty, serious, funny, heartwarming, perfect;
Completely far-fetched and wildly over the top, but utterly entertaining;
Absurdly contrived. Loved it;
Worth sitting through a rather silly film for the sublime music at the end;
Cheesy sums it up and well too loud.
