2011/12 Season
MUGABE AND THE WHITE AFRICAN
UK 2009 (12A) Ipswich Film Theatre -
12 September 2011
- 7.30pm
A powerful documentary of a white Zimbabwean farmer and his fight against the government’s threatened seizure of his property. The family are intimidated and beaten, finally receiving a court ruling that their land seizure was unlawful. A compelling story of human rights.
AUDIENCE COMMENTS:
Riveting and inspring documentary. Stunning photography;
Very gripping and emotional. It would be good to know what has happened to date since the film;
Very distressing but an amazing film that eveybody should see;
I felt it was rather lacking in balance, but the pain was very apparent;
Important issue let down by lousy camera work and poor editing. Overlong.
