Ipswich Film Theatre - 10 September 2012 - 7.30pm This tale of a young boy who is fostered by a hairdresser in a spontaneous act of generosity marks a discernible lightening of tone in the Dardenne’s social-realist strain of cinema, as always filmed in their native Liège. Actress Cécile de France is a rare star presence as befits her fairy godmother role. AUDIENCE COMMENTS: Wonderful; Gripping – what a plot! Brilliant acting; Strange ending; Would not have watched this to the end if it had been on TV. Hope future films are better than this. Reminded me why I don’t have children.
