2012/13 Season
NOW VOYAGER
USA 1942 (PG) Ipswich Film Theatre -
11 February 2013
- 7.30pm
In this classic Warner Brothers melodrama Bette Davis plays a dowdy, repressed spinster who transforms
herself into a modern, attractive woman – with the aid of a handsome psychiatrist. ‘Oh Jerry, don’t let’s ask for the moon. We have the stars!’
AUDIENCE COMMENTS:
Wow, even the clichés were good;
Fabulous! I didn’t realise they made them as well as this in the olden days;
So, unconventional families weren’t invented in the 1970s, then;
Made me want to take up smoking;
Truly dreadful. It made the acting in Nosferatu seem natural.
