2012/13 Season
ONCE UPON A TIME IN ANATOLIA
Turkey/Bosnia 2011 (15) Ipswich Film Theatre -
25 February 2013
- 7.30pm
After a man has killed his friend the police and coroner accompany him to the spot where he left the body, if he can recall. Starting from the uncertainty of memory through an alcoholic haze, this
evocative work speaks to the messiness underlying all human existence with eloquence and compassion.
AUDIENCE COMMENTS:
Outstanding performances. Great photography;
Very long but rewarding. I’m not sure if it needed tighter editing or not. Perhaps 90 minute Hollywood films have spoilt us;
Lasted an eternity but I liked it. Wonderful shots of the landscape. What a place to live and work;
Had a lovely nap. Woke up too soon;
Earlier today I spent nearly three hours waiting for my Jack Russell Terrier to come out of a rabbit hole. This film seemed a whole lot longer. It was a great relief when my dog appeared as it was when this tedious film finished!
