2012/13 Season
ORANGES AND SUNSHINE
UK/Australia 2011 (15) Ipswich Film Theatre -
22 October 2012
- 7.30pm
The film tells the story of Margaret Humphreys, a social worker from Nottingham, who uncovered the forced transportation of poor children from the UK to Australia and Canada. Margaret reunites estranged families and brings worldwide attention to the cause.
AUDIENCE COMMENTS:
Poignant and one of the most moving films I have ever seen;
How proud Ken Loach must be of his brilliant son. Has Emily Watson been better?
How could one fail to be moved by such a heart rending story;
A worthy tale but main character a bit bland. The kind of film shown on Channel 5 in the afternoons.
