Ipswich Film Theatre - 9 December 2013 - 7.30pm As the Allies sweep across Germany in 1945, Lore leads her siblings on a journey that exposes them to the truth of their parents’ beliefs. A harrowing and affecting drama about subject matter often dealt with in the cinema, but rarely from a child’s perspective already tainted by prejudice. AUDIENCE COMMENTS: Fantastic film. The acting, the use of light, the use of silence – everything; Superbly acted – gripping and very sad; An excellent premise but it’s too slow and attempts to be profound at every single juncture; Good storyline but long winded. Ruined by camera work.
