Forget winter, forget Christmas – it’s showtime! Made to help Depression and Prohibition era audiences forget real life – just for a while – and a cracking opening to the Gold Diggers series for Warner Brothers. Fantastical sets, Busby Berkeley choreography and Ginger without Fred.
AUDIENCE COMMENTS: When singers could sing, actors could act and scriptwriters could write; A tap dancing wonderland; Would have been much better without the songs; Amusing – but the hyped-up underpants were a flash in the pan; Nice music, rubbish acting, but fun.
