2015/16 Season
PRIDE
UK 2014 (15) Ipswich Film Theatre -
23 May 2016
- 7.30pm
In 1984 during the miners’ strike, gay rights campaigners join forces with them. Perhaps not an ideal plot for a commercially successful film, but it turns out to be a delightful feel-good and true tale. Strong cast includes Imelda Staunton and Bill Nighy.
AUDIENCE COMMENTS:
So much better than I expected. Very well portrayed;
Good fun and an important, inspiring, piece of British social history;
A heart warming feel-good film to finish an excellent season;
Enjoyed this more than I expected – loved hearing the 80s music, great blasts from the past;
Good to be reminded.
