2015/16 Season

TWO FOR THE ROAD

UK 1967 (PG)
111 minutes

Directed by Stanley Donen

Ipswich Film Theatre - 14 September 2015 - 7.30pm

Swinging Sixties tale, a veritable travelogue, starring Audrey Hepburn and Albert Finney (in Hardy Amies suits), as they fall in love in France, marry … happily ever after? Hepburn, exquisite as ever, in her Mary Quant designed wardrobe. Film score by Henry Mancini. The presentation begins with the short film Lost Property.

AUDIENCE COMMENTS: More of these films please, great to have no swearing or violence; Adored the music and grew to find their pairing more credible. Loved Audrey; Audrey Hepburn was a true icon. They don’t make them like that anymore. Albert Finney came across as a bit rough compared to her; Cleverly edited but could quite cheerfully have drowned the entire cast in the Med; What did she see in him? Could his acting be any more wooden?
