Ipswich Film Theatre - 17 October 2016 - 7.30pm Eddie Marsan is outstanding in this minutely observed film of British life today. His character, John May, is a conscientious council employee tracing relatives of any deceased who have died alone. John has time for one more case and so meets Kelly, an excellent Joanne Froggatt. The presentation begins with the short film What Cheer?. AUDIENCE COMMENTS: A beautiful and moving essay on life and death; Hard to write how good this film is because of tears in my eyes. Thank you; Nobody eats a pork pie like Eddie Marsan – a priceless scene; Sweet. Nice slow build. Lots of natural sound – pity about the sentimental ending; Nice idea ruined by maudlin and corny tendencies.
