LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP

Ipswich Film Theatre - 18 September 2017 - 7.30pm Jane Austen’s novella Lady Susan (Kate Beckinsale) delightfully brought to the big screen, as an ambitious widow plots to secure marriages for herself and her daughter. Exquisite Irish locations, and a roster of British acting talent relishing every minute of Stillman’s witty script. The presentation begins with the short film Dust and Resin (2015). AUDIENCE COMMENTS: Jane’s poisoned pen at its best; Excellent cast, razor sharp wit and beautifully paced. A real gem; Rather too wordy for me at times but clever dialogue and good characters. Extremely funny at times as well; Beautifully filmed, well-acted nonsense; Genial and amusing, but not always easy to follow.
