INTOUCHABLES

France 2011 (15)
112 minutes

Directed by Olivier Nakache & Eric Toledano

Ipswich Film Theatre - 8 April 2019 - 7.30pm

Feelgood comedy-drama about a quadriplegic aristocrat who employs a wide boy from the projects as his carer. The spark between them quickly develops into a mutually enriching relationship. Based on a true story, this will have you smiling all the way home for the Easter break. The presentation begins with the short film Lil Buck with Icons of Modern Art (2016).

AUDIENCE COMMENTS: It didn't sound like my sort of film and I was half thinking of giving it a miss. Glad I didn't; That was a relief after several films I didn't enjoy much. Thanks; Not bad. A bit small screen but nicely drawn between sentiment, humour and character; Amusing and entertaining but ending too syrupy! Feel-good movies can be very depressing; Like most French comedies, I found it not at all funny.
