A DVD film library has been introduced on a trial basis as an additional benefit to members. Members are able to borrow DVDs of films which have previously been shown by the Society, at nominal cost, for viewing at home.
Each selection made from the titles available will be added to the member's personal wish list. Members will then be contacted by email in advance of each meeting to confirm which DVD will be ready for collection. Those in attendance will be asked to present their membership card and pay £1 to cover the Society's costs, whereas those unable to attend will have the opportunity at the next meeting before the DVD is returned to the library.
Borrowers will typically have one week to watch the DVD, which will include a copy of the Society's original film notes, before returning it in the postage-paid envelope provided. This will then allow it to be made available to the next person at the next meeting. On the basis of prompt returns and enough selections being made, there will be the opportunity to borrow a DVD during each of the season's 15 periods. DVDs have been loaned to the Society and the co-operation of each borrower will be required if the scheme is to succeed.
Please feel free to select as many DVDs as you would like. Selections can be made at the same time or at different times. Allocations will be determined based on the requests received and the DVDs returned by the Friday before each meeting.
Following the receipt of a membership card bearing a membership number, the form below should be completed to select each DVD from the library. Confirmation email messages, usually sent within 24 hours, will provide members with a record of the titles selected.
