2013/14 Season
DARK CITY
Australia/USA 1998 (15) Ipswich Film Theatre -
25 November 2013
- 7.30pm
A man awakens alone in a strange hotel to learn he is wanted for a series of brutal killings – but he can’t remember if he did or didn’t commit these murders. Indeed, most of his memories have completely vanished. Film noir sci-fi, like The Matrix done by David Lynch.
AUDIENCE COMMENTS:
Makes Ipswich a cool place to live. Fancy a trip to Shell Beach? No, sunny Felixstowe will do me fine thanks;
Gripplingly Kafkaesque – until the stock Hollywood ending which spoiled it (I kept on expecting Richard O’Brien to lead a race through the Crystal Maze;
Not a fan of Dr Who but I am a huge fan of Jennifer Connelly. Can we have 16 films with her in next year please?
Self indulgent rubbish;
A ludicrous endurance test.
111 minutes
