CLOSELY OBSERVED TRAINS

Czechoslovakia 1966 (X)
93 minutes

Directed by Jirí Menzel

Ipswich Film Theatre - 4 December 2017 - 7.30pm

Winner of the Foreign Language Oscar in 1968, Menzel’s gentle tale is a perennial favourite and undoubtedly the most accessible of the films to emerge from the so-called Prague spring. It concerns a young railway employee during the Occupation who has his first, bitter-sweet, sexual experience.
