Paterson (2016) Paterson (2016) Paterson (2016)

2017/18 Season

PATERSON

US 2016 (15)
113 minutes

Directed by Jim Jarmusch

Ipswich Film Theatre - 19 March 2018 - 7.30pm

Adam Driver is Paterson, a bus driver and poet in Paterson, New Jersey. His girlfriend, Laura, owns an English bulldog, Marvin. The film rather engagingly follows Paterson over one week, at work, writing poetry, taking the dog out. Filmed on location in Paterson, NJ. The presentation begins with the short film Daniel Heath - Made in London (2017).

AUDIENCE COMMENTS: Pleasing gentle comedy. Marvin is an astute poetry critic; He makes my life look interesting; The dumb dog should have eaten the stupid poems on the Tuesday instead of waiting until Saturday and spared us the most boring bus journey of all time; A slow, slow film. Divine; It was slow and quite dull, but I also found it mesmeric and fascinating.
