In Sherlock Jr, Keaton plays a projectionist who dreams his way into the movies on screen – the film that inspired Woody Allen's The Purple Rose of Cairo. In Safety Last, the bespectacled Harold Lloyd scales a tall building as part of a publicity stunt.
